DAC proudly welcomes back fusion vocalist Hamed Nikpay and his world music band at Cowell Theater in San Francisco's Fort Mason Center For Arts & Culture. Join us for an evening of enchanting music from Hamed Nikpay.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Fusion vocalist, Hamed Nikpay, is returning to San Francisco with a new world class band to perform some of his popular hits with a new rendition. The performance will include selection of songs from the body of his work included in his albums and his singles arranged with a new sound, as well as improvisations with the members of Band. The band members are:
Dan Sistos, who in addition to directing the Band, will be playing Electric and Acoustic Guitar, Alberto Albis on Bass, and Edoardo Tancredi on Drums. The vocals will be by Hamed Nikpay, who will also play Oud and Electric Guitar. Guest musician: Leo Chelyapov on Doduk, Clarinet, and Saxophone.

In addition to being a vocalist, Hamed Nikpay is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and experimental artist. He combines classic Persian folklore, poetry, and melodies with soulful Flamenco styles, smooth jazz, and Latin beats. His visionary work has been called a mystical fusion of transcendental Sufi sounds and contemporary funk.
