Diaspora Arts Connection proudly presents Zaza Kurd musician and vocalist Işık Berfin at Diaspora Arts Connection @Home on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 6:00 pm (PST).

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Performing from Dersim, where she is spending her COVID-19 lock-down with her family, Berfin will sing ethnic Zazaki songs from her region which has been through a genocide which wiped out her people, leaving the pain of the land in the region's music. Zazaki is an old language on the verge of extinction and Berfin hopes to revive the language through her music.
