Renowned Iranian musician Shahin Najafi and composer Babak Amini take to stage for a long-awaited musical performance, bringing compositions from Shahin Najafi’s latest album “Sigma" and Shahin's previous albums. The performance will blend Shahin Najafi’s musical talents with band conductor Babak Amini’s guitar-playing, musical vision and compositional abilities to create an unforgettable experience for our audience.

Shahin Najafi is a musician, poet, singer, and social activist. He was born in 1980 to a middle-class family in Bandar-e Anzali, Iran, the youngest of eight children. He started writing poetry and learning to play classical and flamenco guitar in his teens. He turned to rock music, often performing as an underground musician.
As a young activist, Shahin's lyrics often conveyed strong and controversial messages about Iranian society. This attracted the disapproval of Iranian authorities and in 2004, the threat of persecution forced him to leave Iran.
In 2005, Shahin moved to Germany. Dubbed the "angry bard", he continued to write and perform music that was critical of conditions in Iran: poverty, oppression of women, homophobia, censorship, ideological dogmas, violence and cultural taboos. For a time, his career veered into rap and hip hop, bringing him fame among young fans back in Iran. These days, Shahin's music fuses rock, jazz, and blues with lyrics that demand change.
Babak is a highly talented and accomplished Iranian, Canadian Musician Composer, Guitarist, and a member of American Guitar Society (CSUN University, Northridge, CA). He is also a member of Toronto Musicians' Association. (TMA). instructor of Canada Music Academy.
Babak Amini was born in April 1970 in Tehran, Iran. He was always amused by the world of music and his first experience of music was with his mentor and renounced teacher Mr. Shahrokh Partovi which he began at the age of 10 and his style being Flamenco.
He then followed his ambition by the only master of all trades in guitar, Mr. Simon Aivazian. He entered the professional world at the age of 18. His first album was introduced in 1990 and was called 'Gray Rain' followed by 'Blue of the Rain'. He then released his third album, 'Shadow of My Own', which had vocals that was based on poets such as Hafez, Molana, Babataher and Nima.
